And maybe some other time I'll go into further on this and related topics, such as Rastafarian ninjas and Beatles knock-off bands. |

I'd just like to say that the Venture Bros is the best animated tv show of this decade.
Unless you can prove me wrong. |

Is it just me or has the use of the word "hipster", in particular its use as a derogatory term, has really increased in the past year? |

So, for the past few months I've been part of the Monthly Mixtape group on Last.FM, where each month we have to make a mixtape preferably based on a theme that was voted. This month the theme was covers with the runner up being Halloween. I decided to make two covers mixes. One consisting of relatively normal covers, the other containing ones that were more weird/twisted/psychotic. You can check them both out after the jump.

| | Kenny Loggins - This Is It | ] | So last weekend I saw Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs. If you decided to skip out on this film because it looks like sub-Dreamworks Quality or because it doesn't appear to follow the book that it was based upon, then you're missing out on what I consider one of the funniest animated films in recent years. While not quite up there with Pixar in terms of story, character development, and deep themes, this film is filled a non stop barrage of jokes. One of things about this film that not many people realize is that it's written and directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller who were the creator's of the short lived animated series Clone High. While this film is geared towards children, there's still many elements of that show's clever and absurd humor to be found. In fact it's very much the type of animated film I would make. Especially with things like a video consisting of kittens singing Public Enemy's "Fight The Power".
Anyways, here's a clip featuring Andy Samberg giving a behind the scenes look of the film:

I just realized my true calling in life:
I need to start a New Jack Swing group whose songs are all about underwater exploration done entirely in French.
We'll be called Bell Biv Cousteau and our first single would be "Poisson". |
